What do you do?
I currently work for ManMet Sport as a Digital Marketing Assistant. This involves content production for various projects (such as Varsity or specific campaigns like the Platt Lane Gym Hub offer) as well as our normal weekly output. I work with other creators either commissioning videos or devising, planning, shooting and editing them myself.
Manchester Varsity 2025

Manchester Varsity is the ultimate university showdown as Manchester Metropolitan take on local rivals the University of Manchester across a 2-day sporting spectacle.
I contributed to our output by co-ordinating the videography aspect of our media day. The teaser video below was devised, shot and edited by me as part of our promo for Varsity. A shortened version of the video was produced for Instagram and TikTok. There were also 25 second billboards produced, one featuring Manchester Met more dominantly, the other featuring University of Manchester more to be used on both campuses as promotion.
This is part of a series of videos interviewing some of the teams we have competing in Varsity. The purpose for this is to try and encourage wider engagement with Varsity. What creates the high stakes in a game is the understanding of the context.
Watching the Abu Dhabi GP in 2021 might be entertaining on its own, however a person who has watched the season unfold has a greater understanding of the stakes and the context as to why a decision might be controversial or a victory might mean something more. With this series where teams explain how their season has gone, I hope to have people buy into the team more and generate more interest in the games in question even if they are not people who have been watching games at Platt Lane or have had a connection with the team.

The Semester 2 Wrap Up video I produced is an extended version of a TikTok trend (“Almost forgot this was the whole point”) and highlights a lot of crucial wins across BUCS/Varsity as well as our sports participation work like Campus League and Active Campus.
