What do you do?

I currently work for ManMet Sport as a Digital Marketing Assistant. This involves content production for various projects (such as Varsity, BUCS Nationals or specific campaigns like the Platt Lane Gym Hub offer) as well as our normal weekly output. I work with other creators either commissioning videos or devising, planning, shooting and editing them myself.

Listen up.

In November 2025, we gave the former Manchester Met Sport podcast a reboot with new hosts Lauren Heaton and Chloe Golding. We renamed the show “Benchwarmers: Man Met Talk Sport”.

Manchester Met has a lot to offer the sporting scene from our world class athletes to our free sport and fitness programmes. In the show we discuss what's going on in sport, on campus and beyond blending topical discussions with guests, pre-recorded interviews with students and interactive games.

I am the producer on this project, co-writing episodes, organising guests, setting up the radio studio, editing, uploading and promoting the podcast.

Major Projects

Movember 2025

Hall of Fame 🏆

A selection of some of my favourite edits and other videos.

The Semester 2 Wrap Up video I produced is an extended version of a TikTok trend (“Almost forgot this was the whole point”) and highlights a lot of crucial wins across BUCS/Varsity as well as our sports participation work like Campus League and Active Campus.

This was the extended version of the Varsity trailer and one of my first proper edits. This was on billboards around campus and is one of the projects I’m proudest of. Whilst the views on YouTube are rather modest (as it’s a platform we hadn’t really focused on in the past beyond for live-streaming Match Day Live), it was wildly successful on our main platforms with 34.1k views on Instagram and 13.7k on TikTok.

The inspiration for this was from reality TV reunion specials. I feel those formats are good to ask questions in a way that feels relaxed, encourages interaction between guests and also allows us to integrate questions from the audience (which we did via an Instagram Q&A). I think it also allows us to really have a bit more depth and explore things more than our short format reels allows us to (or instead of doing a video with each swimmer and exhausting the topic too much). I devised the format and our student videographer, Will Fountain, filmed and edited the video.

Achievements

We were shortlisted for the Digital Engagement Award at the BUCS Awards 2025 for our Varsity campaign.

The entire Man Met Sport team were shortlisted for the Student Experience Award at the Manchester Met Staff Awards for the Varsity 2025 project. We did not win on this occasion, but were highly commended.

Other parts of my role:

  • Day to day management of our social media platforms.

  • Website updates.

  • Recruiting, hiring and managing our student photographer/videographers.

  • Asset management.

  • Data visualisation - creating PowerBi reports to help showcase our improving metrics and track trends.

  • Procurement and budgets - purchasing equipment to enhance our production quality and creating smart spreadsheets to track expenditure over the year.

  • Training students on social media best practice and how they can best promote their clubs to other students and to potential sponsors.
